What is
GEO CHALLENGE?

WishWin's Geo Challenge is a fun way to learn and explore our planet. We believe that the sky is the limit and the earth has no boundaries. The objective of our Geo Challenge is to test the abilities of curious minds with questions about our mother planet and the solar system. The variety of topics range from the solar system, to world geography, geography of oceans, and other phenomena of the planet.

The Geo Challenge aims to provide a learning experience to students so that they can re-discover cultures, geographies and physical features of our land and everything around us.

Geo Challenge FAQs

Geo Challenge consists of 2 levels

  • Geo Challenge for Juniors : Grades 1, 2, 3 and 4
  • Geo Challenge for Seniors: Grades 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9

Our competitions are meant to promote academic excellence and recognize students for their talent and hard work. During our competitions, there will be pictures and videos taken which may be posted on our website. Students who wish to participate in our competitions will have to turn in a photo / video release consent form at the time of onsite check-in on the day of the competition.

Students should bring pencils, pens, and erasers to the test.

You may either bring a printed or mobile copy of the registration ticket.
During onsite check-in, photo / video consent form has to be submitted, which is a prerequisite to participate in the competition.

  • Enhance the knowledge about our planet
  • Build self-confidence and self-esteem
  • Learn variety of topics ranging from US geography, world geography, Indian geography, water bodies, land forms, physical features of lands, and other phenomena of the planet.
  • Help lay the foundation in the future preparation for national geographic bee and other national level competitions

Geo Challenge will consist of written sections only.

The exam/test will consist of multiple choice questions and fill in the blank type questions.

The questions of Geo Challenge will be tailored to the category, with some extra challenging questions. The objective of our Geo Challenge is to test the abilities of curious minds with questions about our mother planet. Additionally, this will help set the foundation for other competitions, such as the national geographic bee.

Geo Challenge will be a written test/exam consisting of 30 questions.

Overall exam duration will be 1 hour and 15 minutes.

The students are expected to arrive 30 minutes before the exam for onsite check-in, seating of students, and explanation of rules.

Soon after the test/exam, the answers will be evaluated and the winners will be announced during the award ceremony.

Geo Challenge Rules, Guidelines and Study Sources

Geo challenge : Rules

The following rules are applicable for Geo Challenge Competition

  • Geo Challenge consists of 2 levels
    • Junior Geo Challenge : Grades 1, 2, 3 and 4
    • Senior Geo Challenge: Grades 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9
  • Geo Challenge for both levels will consist of written sections only.
  • The written test will consist of 30 questions
  • All the contestants will get the same questions.
  • Online Logistics and Honor System
    • The entire competition will be held online. During the competition, students must not seek help from any external resources. This includes, but is not limited to, other people (e.g. parents, friends), any devices (e.g. phone, computer, additional computer or monitor), or any software.
    • Students should choose a quiet and well-lit room for the competition.
    • Students should install a secondary device (a phone or a laptop placed behind at a distance) that shows the room and the student's computer.
    • While taking the online written test, students must not switch browser tabs or open other websites/software/files on their device.
    • During the competition, students are required to be in front of a webcam, and their physical movements and operations on the computer screen will be continuously recorded.
    • Parents should not be in the same room as the student.
    • Organizers may ask a student to show the entire room if they have any questions
    • Ultimately, this competition is an honor system and we rely on the integrity of the students to uphold the fairness of the competition.
    Set-up for the Competition
    • Students are required to check-in before the competition. This will ensure students have their set-up and they are ready to take the written test on the day of the competition seamlessly.
    • The organizers will provide time slots for check-in.
    • Students will be provided a link for taking the test and two zoom links for the set-up.
    • Students should join the competition using the online links provided by the organizers.

Geography 2022/2023 National Championship Results

Congratulations to these “Geographers” who participated from across the country at the WishWin 2022/2023 National Geography Championship. This year, we had international representation in the Junior Geography Championship!

The WishWin 2022/2023 Junior Geography National Champion, Shashank Palla, secured 91% in the Championship.

Geo Challenge 2018 Results

The Geo Challenge 2018 was designed as an exploration method to learn more about planet earth. Every question in the written round and oral round was created with the objective to promote learning. The goal of our contests is to motivate students and promote academic excellence and the format is designed in such a way that students are encouraged to participate and improve their test-taking ability. The senior and junior WishWin Geo Challenge champions missed the perfect score by just one question each. Overall, the contest was a high scoring test with all children performing very well. Congratulations, students!
